Lockdown is like a Vehicle

Life in Lockdown is like a vehicle,
That’s stopped and broken down.
It needs a thorough inspection,
Before you can ride back into town.

To stay in a good, well condition,
Needs some regular maintenance,
To stop the small things growing,
And keep everything in balance.

Do you need some calibration?
Are you still running at your peak?
Or does your engine need a booster,
To strengthen you from growing weak?

Does your oil need refreshing?
Do your shock absorbers still work?
Is your handbrake in position?
Does your start-up have a jerk?

Lift your bonnet to inspect inside,
To see what needs addressing.
Take note of all your problems,
But still focus on your blessings.

Is your life’s alignment out?
Does your direction need adjusting?
Are you living on the right fuel,
To keep your life from rusting?

Take your life to God’s garage,
For a complete overhaul.
Let Him repair your brokenness,
And restore you to better than before.

God's Faithfulness

Where is your faithfulness Lord?
When jobs and hope are lost,
And loved ones and babies die,
And we are left to wonder why?

Where is your faithfulness Lord?
When nothing makes any sense,
And our prayers go unanswered,
And our loved ones aren’t cured?

Where is your faithfulness Lord?
When our hard efforts go wasted,
And nothing seems to go right,
Yet we try with all our might?

Where is your faithfulness Lord?
When solutions to problems evade us,
And our cars and computers break,
When our jobs and income are at stake?

Where is your faithfulness Lord?
When a virus controls our every move,
And visits and hugs are banned,
For reasons we do not understand?

Your faithfulness Lord, is found,
In the care, compassion and comfort,
Of our loving family and friends.
Whose giving hearts show no ends.

Your faithfulness Lord, is found,
In dead trees that come alive.
Through the constancy of seasons.
Giving us a glimmer to your reasons.

Your faithfulness Lord, is found,
In testimonies where faith was tested.
Through the promises of your Word,
Where the flame of our hope is stirred.

Your faithfulness Lord, is found,
In our past of answered prayers.
Knowing that you worked out the bad,
Together for good, that made me glad.

Thank you, Lord, for your Faithfulness,
For your Potter’s hand that molds me,
For your refining fire that purifies me,
And your pruning hand that grows me.
