Time is a Gift

Time is a precious gift to us,
To be spent wisely and valued,
No minute should ever be wasted,
As time cannot be accrued.

There’s a time to work and a time to play,
To fully appreciate this blessing.
For when you’re mindful of your time,
It will keep you from obsessing.

Time is a gift that needs re-gifting,
It’s best spent on one another.
Leave no time to become selfish,
When you’re a wife or busy mother

There is time each week, set apart,
To rest, to pause and be restored.
To reflect, to process and recharge,
It’s not a time meant to be bored.

Music, reading and watching movies,
Are God’s gifts He gives our soul.
They bring us calm and knowledge,
And helps us to better grow up whole.

Time is a gift with a Godly purpose,
Be mindful how you spend each hour.
When you surrender each day to God,
He will fill each one with His power.

Your time cannot be saved up,
For the clock keeps ticking away.
Each second, each minute and hour,
Will see the end of another day.

Add meaning to your time on earth,
Set goals you want to achieve.
Add purpose to your daily routine,
Have a dream you can believe.

You have no right to your time,
For it’s a gift that has been given.
So, avoid every wasteful moment,
Until your time is needed in Heaven.

Christmas

Christmas is not just a happy holiday,

Or a time for festive greetings.
It’s a very special occasion indeed,
To enjoy time in family meetings.

Christmas is not about the presents,
Or when Christmas Carols are sung.
It’s a time to spend in Jesus’s presence,
And think what His birth has done.

Christmas is not about the feast,
Of flowing spirits and luxury food.
It’s a time to remember His birth,
And remain in a peace-filled mood.

Christmas is not about decorating a tree,
Or sending cards to all we know.
It’s about a birth that sets us free,
And for this, our joy should show.

Christmas is not a time for fuss or stress,
Rushing to find the perfect presents.
We should think more of those we can bless,
And remain in Jesus’s presence.

So set a time on Christmas morning,
To take time and thank God for Jesus.
For when Jesus is the reason for the season,
Love, hope and peace will fill your Christmas

Bird Praise

The tweeting, chirping song of your birds,
Creates a poem that flows from my words.
Their harmonious singing, I love to hear,
Fills me with joy and drives away my fear.

Their splendid colour, like paint on each wing,
Lifts my spirit up and makes my heart sing.
Birds remind me that You meet my every need,
I need not worry about clothes or food to feed.

Their sweet songs fill my morning with praise,
Refreshing me and sets my cooling heart ablaze.
It reminds me that Your mercy is new every day,
And that You're always with me, come what may!

Do you Get it?

Do you get it? Do you have it? Do you understand it?
Do you know the it you’re meant to get?
Do you get what Jesus died to give you?
That He paid the price for your debt
Do you get the power in His name?
Have you experienced His deliverance power?
Do you understand the reason for His fame?
Have you discovered the refuge in His tower?
Do you intimately know who Jesus really is,
Your Heavenly Father and His Holy Spirit?
Are you living in the joy of your inheritance?
Are you enjoying His blessings that are immediate?
So what are you prepared to give up or risk to get it?
You’ve got to get through stuff, before you can get it
Get through your past, your pride, your shame, your mess
Then believe and receive and don’t settle for nothing less
Drive out, kick out and yell for things to get out, and then slam that door!
You have to be emptied, so you will have the space to receive more
Then wake up, get up, arise and discover you weren’t dead, just sleeping
For there are more important things in life that’s worth keeping
You will only be able to give it to others, once you have got it
So I ask you, have you got it yet?

Prayer for my Thoughts

Lord, please help me to control my mind,

Let my thoughts be only good and kind.
Do my prayers show a faith that’s strong?
Forgive me when I have prayed wrong.

Help me take captive every worry and fear,
To remember that you are always near.
Let me never get to the point of no hope,
Give me the endurance and strength to cope.

Help me be mindful of my every thought,
So I’ll think only of the things that I ought.
Show me which thoughts really do matter.
And which ones are lies from the accuser.

Help me to recognize any wrong filters,
That corrupts every thought that enters.
Reveal the purpose in my circumstance,
So my thoughts will have a good response.

Help me to think of only what is pure and true,
As I choose to surrender and put my trust in you.
Teach me not to bend with the world to conform,
Like a caterpillar to a butterfly, let me transform.

Lord, I surrender every thought to your control,
Help me tear down the lies that corrupt my soul.
I will reject thoughts that distract or discourage.
I look forward to being transformed into your image.

Broken Glass

Are you broken and shattered like glass?
Is the smile on your face a big farce?
Can others see your damaged cracks,
That opens the door to Satan’s attacks?

Do you have sharp, chipped pieces,
That cut others deep with your offenses?
Is your life splintered and fractured,
In need of your broken bits plastered?

You could go to God for His healing glue,
To stick you back together, like new.
But God’s ways are so different to ours,
To try understand them will take us hours.

God uses our cracked, broken bits,
For it’s in there that His Glory fits.
He shines through our cracks to others,
With His glorious, bright shining colours.

So, don’t hide or discard your brokenness,
For God wants to fill up your emptiness.
Others won’t see where you are cracked,
They’ll see only a life, beautifully intact.

So let God use your shattered life,
Cracked and broken by hurts and strife.
To shine and be used by God’s grace,
Sharing the healing love of His embrace.

What kind of Father are you?

What kind of a father are you?
Do you deserve the best Dad’s award?
Let me ask you a few simple questions,
To see how you have scored.

Are you selfish or sacrificial?
Do you have a loving heart?
Do you treat your child as special?
What wisdom do you impart?

Are you gentle and giving?
Have you nurtured them well?
Do your children feel encouraged?
Or do they shrink when you yell?

Do you discipline with firmness?
Are you always fair and lenient?
Have you taught them right from wrong,
To make them morally obedient?

Have you been reliable to trust?
Protective and dependable?
Does your child feel your support?
Are you always there, accessible?

Have you been a present Father,
Been there when you were needed?
Or were you absent and reserved,
With their wishes left unheeded?

Are you friendly and forgiving?
Or are you critical and cruel?
Do you parent them with kindness,
That will grow them to be successful?

Are you compassionate and caring?
Do you make your children proud?
Is your relationship strong and open?
Are you always fun to be around?

If you have failed some of these questions,
Take heart, for it is never too late.
Let the love of your Heavenly Father,
Make you a Dad your child will celebrate!
