What is Love?

Love is much more than good intentions,
Love is a verb that is shown through our actions.
Love is not a feeling, a lust or just passionate emotions,
Love is a value, a commitment, a vow, a decision.

Love is a journey, a process,
It’s like a bank account,
We make deposits and withdrawals.
For how we love is paramount.

Love is more than just caring,
It is seeking the best for another.
It’s the glue that connects our friendships,
And not just something between lovers.

Connection is the root from where love grows,
For it flows from the depths of ones’ heart.
Teaching us empathy, kindness, selflessness.
And saddens us when we have to be apart.

Intimacy is the fruit of love,
For it’s a bodily experience, not just in the mind.
Romance is the reward of love,
For it stirs up passion and adoration inside.

Authentic love is a gift from the creator of love.
For we cannot love, without being loved first.
Love tells the truth to be real, and that’s tough.
For without love, our lives are lived cursed.

Love changes us and others.
It teaches us we we’re created to live lonely, alone,
It helps our character grow, for as we love,
More seeds of love are sown.

Love heals all hurts,
It’s the bandage of brokenness,
It’s the antiseptic of pain,
It has the power to restore,
And offers hope to start again.

The world needs more love,
The world needs more people who love,
The world needs you!

Where do the homeless go?

Where do the homeless go

When the wind is howling

When the rain is bucketing down

And their stomachs growling?

Where do the homeless sleep

When their bodies are aching

When they are cold and tired

And their spirits breaking?

Where do the homeless wash

When they are grimed in dirt

When their souls need cleansing

And in need of a clean shirt?

Where should the homeless go

In need of a pillow for their head

When they have no place to call home

And sometimes wish they were dead?

Where should the homeless eat

When they are empty with desperation

Their stomachs rumbling with need

And their bodies skeletal from starvation?

Yet, buildings lie empty, abandoned and locked

Good food is thrown out, wasted and rotten

Whilst the homeless are shooed away like dogs

Their names and daily struggles forgotten

Wake up and let’s start a revolution

To care more, to share and stop ignoring

To see their suffering, their hurts and pain

And be blessed in helping in their restoring
