The Conversation

  Have you had the conversation,
To share your wishes should you die?
I urge you not to put this off,
Even if it makes your loved ones’ cry.

Let them know your wants and desires,
If your organs are to be donated.
And if you'd prefer your body buried,
In a grave, or just be cremated.

Pick out your final outfit to wear,
And choose the photo for your funeral.
Pass on your contact numbers,
For both the church and for the burial.

Be sure to let them know your will,
And your favourite songs to sing.
What Bible verses you'd like read out,
And what flowers they could bring.

For when you share your wishes,
It will bring a comfort in what they do.
Knowing as they make your plans,
It will be their final gift to you.

Your loved ones’ grief can be reduced,
If you leave them with your plan.
I know this from my own experience,
For this happened with my Gran.
