Life is like Water

Your life is just like water,

It can be hard and cold as ice.
Or it can flow like a waterfall,
Be inviting, so warm and nice.

Water is life’s greatest teacher,
It holds secrets down deep below.
Like a mirror, it reflects what it sees,
That determines your ebb and flow.

Is your life dark and dirty with sludge,
From the impurities of sediment sin?
The filter of God’s Spirit can cleanse you,
That will purify your life from within.

Does your current flow freely with ease?
Are there turbulent waves of doubt?
Are you stagnant with inaction to flow?
Do your stormy waters toss you about?

Are you thirsty for life’s living water?
Then drink from the well of God’s spring,
Are you dry like a desert in drought?
Discover the quench His word brings.

Your life will be an oasis to others,
When God’s light shines brightly on you.
Others will see your radiant beauty,
Springs of water, so clear and so blue.

When your life is calm and smooth,
Like delicate, hand-blown glass,
Others will be able to see through you,
And marvel your beauty at first glance.

Don’t let your life evaporate,
Wasting away from life’s heat.
Disturbed waters become unclear,
And you can drown in life’s defeat.

When ripples of waves of doubt creep in,
Let your faith help you float, like a life vest.
For only with God can we splash with joy,
His Living Waters, is where we find our rest.
