Life is like a candle,
We’re all born with an
unlit wick.
We need to find what
fuel will light it,
And on what surface
we’re to stick.
We were all created to
shine bright,
To light a path into
this world.
We must keep our candle
burning,
And not allow our wick
to be pulled.
There are many ways to
fuel our wick,
Or to ignite its
burning flame.
But beware of the many
winds of fear,
And do your best to
avoid its aim.
Use your light to see
your path,
Clearly and with truth.
Use your flame to
lighten your load,
And to realise your
worth.
Ensure your wick stays
firm and upright,
Don’t waste away your
years of wax.
Keep flickering away
all your doubts,
As its calming light
helps you relax.
Don’t burn your candle
at both ends,
Be sure to use it
wisely.
For when you reach your
wick’s bottom,
Your light will shine
less brightly.
God knows what length
our candle is,
He sets the speed it
will melt.
He puts in us a special
fragrance,
And determines the
warmth to be felt.
So keep your candle
burning,
Shine your light
wherever your go.
Don’t allow anything to
kill your flame,
Bask in the light of
your glorious glow.
