Life is like a tree,
You get to choose the type.
You can be a grand old acorn,
With fruits that’s full and
ripe.
Your life has many seasons,
That affect your growing tree.
In the warmth of every Summer,
Your life grows along with ease.
In Autumn, your moods might
change,
Like the varied coloured leaves.
And in Winter, you’re left quite
bare,
While you struggle in the
breeze.
You need the hope of Spring,
God’s gift of sunshine bright.
His Word is the water that’s
needed,
To help you reach new heights.
Are you growing many seeds and
fruit?
Are your roots down deep and
firm?
Do you offer up your branches,
Or is your life full of
woodworm?
Is your wood trunk firm or weak?
What are you making of your
life?
Are you a flimsy pine or a
valuable teak?
Does your tree hold firm in
strife?
Stand tall, stand firm,
Accept it when God prunes,
For this allows new shoots to
grow,
So your life won’t end in ruins.
Raise up your branches with
praise,
Offer up your many fruits,
Give some shelter to the weary,
As you strengthen up your roots.
Join together in life’s forest,
For each tree does have its
purpose.
We must learn our unique nature,
To become a towering fortress.
