Life is like a Play

Life is like a play,

Acted out on one long stage,

Made up of many actors,

Of many talents and of age.

We didn’t need to audition,

God already chose our part,

He knew which role would suit us best,

If we act them out with our heart.

God is our life’s Director,

He’s chosen all our scripts,

He helps us when we forget our lines,

And to memorise our bits.

We have a great big audience,

But we needn’t get stage-fright,

For God always produces hits,

When we stay in His spotlight.

But unlike plays in real life,

We only get one chance,

There are no life rehearsals,

We must give our best performance.

So at the final curtain,

We will have done our best.

We will have left a great legacy,

And earned our eternal rest.
