Life is like Jewellery

Life is like jewellery,

It can be shiny bright or quite dull.

It can be colourful, yet fake,

Or a unique, amazing original.

The jewellery pieces we choose to wear,

Says a lot about who we are.

We can live simple, minimalistic lives,

Or show off, gaudy to be seen from afar.

Do you display your emotional jewels,

Around your neck and heart?

Or are you guarded and keep them hidden,

Afraid if you don't, you’ll fall apart?

What clasp holds you together?

Do you feel secure in their charms?

Are you wearing your jewels with pride?

Do you dangle them around your arms?

Where you obtain your adornments,

Is important for the way you’ll live.

For some are lasting and valuable,

While others are cheap and corrosive.

God has designed a one-of-a-kind,

For each of His children on earth.

He knows which type of jewellery we need,

And which ones will bring us our worth.

God is the giver of precious jewels,

He blesses us with each metal and stone.

These will never rust or dull over time,

And will still sparkle when He brings us home.
