Life is like a Hospital

 Life is like a hospital,
God knows what healing we need.
He sees our every bruise and hurt,
And knows what makes us bleed.

For many a disease is cured in time,
With the salve of God’s touch in a prayer.
But there’s a greater healing that waits to be done,
If we’ll only trust God to be there.

For God’s greatest medicine is often pain,
Which brings us the quickest healing.
He longs to heal our brokenness,
If we’ll only accept what we’re feeling.

The offenses we carry are often benign,
When we learn to let go of their pain.
For the anger will cause a puss in our hearts,
And will grow if they’re left to remain.

God is our great Physician,
He appoints our spouses with care.
He knows which one will heal us best,
And the pain each of us will share.

Even the children God blesses us with,
Has a role to play in our treatment.
For the cure they bring to our selfish hearts,
Is another of God’s healing ointment.

We all await our day of discharge,
Where no hospital will be needed.
But only if we’ve been a good patient,
And if our healing treatment succeeded.
