Life is like a
painting,
A process that take
time to unfold.
Each brushstroke brings
you closer,
To the vision that you
hold.
We may not know the end
result,
It may seem quite
abstract,
But God knows your
life’s painting,
And helps you keep on
track.
We are all a coloured
spectrum,
We mix and blend our
shades,
But when we get the
process right,
Our painting will never
fade.
Our happy times are
boldly bright,
They bring our lives
dimension,
But you need the greys
and even black,
To deepen our
appreciation.
You can’t have one
without the other,
There’ll be times of
shadowy doubt.
These give your life
its shine and depth,
And what life is all
about.
Each added scene of
colour,
Tells a special story.
They give your life its
unique shape,
And emphasises God’s
glory.
Our family and friends
are our easel,
They support and hold
us up.
They encourage us to
keep on painting,
And act as our rinsing
cup.
We all get to choose
the picture,
Of what life we want to
paint.
A Mona-Lisa or a
brilliant landscape,
Or an abstract some
will hate.
There are many mediums
one can use,
All unique and
different.
Some take very long to
dry,
And some just in an
instant.
Each life’s painting
has a value,
In a world of many
contrasts.
We are all artists of a
masterpiece,
A painting made to
last.
Before life’s been said
and done,
We’ll need a coat of
varnish.
God’s spirit acts as
protection,
So we won’t end up
ruined from tarnish.
God’s already won the
auction,
He eagerly waits to
frame us.
He takes delight in the
life we create,
As He stretches out our
life’s canvas!
